John Smith is a sought after Software as a Service transformation expert. Early in his career, John had the privilege of working for six years at Thinking Machine Corporation, where John produced the first commercial disk array, and went on to invent the “Scalable Disk Array.” He then founded and led STONE+WIRE, producing high bandwidth disk arrays and networks to support the burgeoning digital special effects industry
After a profitable exit in 1996, (via acquisition by Discreet Logic, Inc. of Montreal, Canada), John began his consulting career and has worked with several successful Internet and enterprise ventures, including Alexa Internet (purchased by Amazon), BrightMail (purchased by Symantec), and Knowledge Stream Partners (purchased by Amdocs). John’s recent work transformed a single product company into an SaaS provider by constructing a SOA platform and new website retooled to achieve the “Learn > Try > Buy > Share” model for attracting qualified traffic. John holds a BSEE degree from the University of Notre Dame, and has completed several executive programs in communication, management, and leadership.
